Dr. Ashley Waggoner, D.C.

I was born in the birthplace of chiropractic; Davenport, Iowa. As a child I focused on gymnastics and competition dance. Early in my childhood I hit my head on the balance beam during training and was diagnosed with a concussion. For years following my injury I went through bouts of debilitating migraines. As time went on the migraines lessened until they became rare. While in college studying education and pre law I was hit almost head on by a young driver. I had no serious injuries, however over the next couple weeks my headaches became severe again. This made working as an insurance agent, going to school full time, and raising my 1 year old daughter very difficult. I endured a year of medical treatment which included multiple medications, neurological testing, and pain shots. At the end of the first year, I was worse than ever with a never ending pain prescription. Depression began to hit hard and I was becoming more desperate for a solution or even relief from my daily pain and numbness. A co-worker recommended that I see a chiropractor at Palmer College of Chiropractic and I took the opportunity seriously. At my first appointment the staff doctor told me that I was going to be a chiropractor. Knowing nothing about chiropractic, I was glad to be there, simply out of hope. Within one month of aggressive care I was able to go off all medications including weekly pain shots. When I woke up I was no longer in so much pain that I was nauseas or numb throughout the day due to the pain medications. These effects were also causing my hope to increase and my depression to fade. My energy drastically increased and my focus & concentration followed. My very first staff doctor was present at my graduation in February 2007.

Upon graduation I had 2 young children. My daughter was born before I attended chiropractic school and my son was born half way through the program. Because of my ignorance of natural healthcare and chiropractic, the pregnancy with my daughter and her labor were both very difficult. She had a very traumatic birth at term following a full surgery when I was 7 1/2 months pregnant. She was in the NICU for a week and experienced colic for the first 6 months of her life. The pregnancy and labor of my son were very different. Through my pregnancy I had consistent chiropractic care and never suffered from sciatica, which I had terribly with my daughters pregnancy. I also had little to no indigestion, headaches, or breathing problems. The labor of my son was much faster, easier, and less painful because of my prenatal chiropractic care. My midwife helped me to deliver him on my hands and knees, which was much more comfortable and natural for me than lying on my back and working against gravity. My beautiful son was optimally healthy despite a slight neck misalignment due to the umbilical cord being tight around his neck during delivery. Immediately after he was born I adjusted him and he relaxed completely. He never had colic, an ear infection, sleeping problems, acid reflux, fussiness, etc. I discovered that one of the greatest gifts you can give your kids is the gift of health!

After graduating from Palmer College of Chiropractic in February 2007, I became an associate doctor at Tucker Chiropractic, an all activator practice in Tucker Georgia. there I had the opportunity to treat a large amount of patients with chronic issues such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, migraine headaches, etc. I opened my first practice in my home town, Moline, Illinois in 2008.  An amazing opportunity for the growth of our practice was made available here in Arizona in 2009 and we jumped on board. Ashley Chiropractic has grown rapidly in the birthing community. Our focus pregnancy, women, and children and our successes have been innumberable. The responses of our patients have caused many midwives, OB/GYN's, and other birth professionals to refer pregnant women, babies, and children to us.

Maternity Care/Infant Care:
As a mom myself , I know how important this prenatal time is and I'm very sensitive to the issues that arise. Mainstream medicine considers discomfort in pregnancy and colic in babies to be "normal". However, they are not normal and can be largely alleviated by chiropractic and soft tissue techniques. With pregnant moms I mix gentle chiropractic, muscle  and energy work. With infants I use soft tissue techniques with gentle adjustments. The birthing process itself is often traumatic for their little bodies and all newborn babies benefit from at least one treatment.

Womens Health:
I put special emphasis on getting a full picture of your health as a woman, realizing that neck and/or back pain can be symptoms deeper more chronic patterns. Pelvic imbalances, intestinal health, emotional stress, past traumas, anxiety, hormonal changes, and/or daily routines can greatly influence health. We design a TAILOR MADE  program just for YOU that addresses any and all of these areas and works toward YOUR overall goals.

Pediatric Health:
Being a kid can be rough on the body. Growing up is hard work and joint injuries are common. Often kids have health issues that we would not know without taking them to the chiropractor. These issues can affect them seriously later in life. Falls and bonks, growth spurts, repetitive stress injuries (soccer, dance, football, etc), chronic ear infections, learning difficulties, sleeping difficulties, stress from life, ADD, headaches, orthodontic/dental work, digestive problems, sensory integration problems, and failure to thrive.

Athletes:
Being active as a child or adult is beneficial for your body. It allows your joints to stay in motion, your muscles to be conditioned and strengthened, your metabolism to remain high, and your overall systems to function more efficiently. Repetitive injuries whether small or great cause misalignments of your joints, muscle and ligament tears, as well as other injuries. It is beneficial for all athletes to have regular chiropractic care in order to minimize injuries as well as create an optimally functioning mind and body for a competitive advantage. We see patients in all athletic fields including football, soccer, swimming, golf, wrestling, body-building, dance, gymnastics, cheer-leading, tennis, etc.).

General Chiropractic:
My general chirorpactic work includes spinal and extremity adjustments, muscle work, physical rehabilitation, stretching exercises, massage, nutritional testing and counseling, hormonal testing and counseling. Common conditions include; sciatica, whiplash, TMJ, neck and back pain, accidents, slips and falls, shoulder/arm/hand pain, hip/knee/ankle pain, balance problems, dizziness, headaches, and the list goes on!

I am excited to be bringing an energy increasing, healing method to YOU and your family! I am excited about meeting you and adding you to our family! How does it get any better than this?
